Just another day in our house where there is no privacy.
Don’t get me wrong, I love my kids. I just think there is a time and a place for Mom to be alone.
For example… when I go to the bathroom.
Apparently my children disagree.
You can tell by the way they react every time I close the bathroom door.
In this particular moment, I was using the restroom when two out of my four boys decided to join me.
The toddler walked in carrying one of his favorite books. He had flipped it open to the elephant page because, obviously, I needed to make the elephant sound.
At the same time, my five-year-old wandered in too. Not because he needed anything. He just felt the need to supervise his little brother. So there I was, making elephant noises while one child held up the book and the other leaned against my leg like we were all just hanging out.
This is motherhood.
It’s crazy around here.
It’s loud.
It’s messy.
It’s never boring.
And while I wouldn’t trade these moments for anything…
I do think there’s a time and a place for Mom to be alone.
Apparently, it’s just not in this season.
