If you’re anything like me, future you appreciates a little help.
When I have the time on a Saturday, I’ll throw a turkey breast in the oven while we’re doing everything else. Most of it gets sliced up for sandwiches throughout the week, but the thicker slices usually end up on a dinner plate one night. It’s one of those little things that makes a busy Monday feel a little less busy.
The best part? The oven does most of the work.
Here’s how I make it.
Recipe:
Ingredients
1 turkey breast
Salt
Pepper
Garlic powder
Onion powder
Italian seasoning
Thyme or rosemary (or both!)
About ½-1 cup chicken broth
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Place the turkey breast in a baking dish.
Season generously with the salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and thyme or rosemary. Feel free to adjust the seasonings to your family’s taste.
Pour the chicken broth into the bottom of the baking dish.
Cover tightly with aluminum foil.
Bake until the turkey reaches an internal temperature of 165°F. (Cooking time will vary depending on the size of your turkey breast.)
Let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Slice it thin for sandwiches.
Leave a few thicker slices for easy dinners later in the week.
