Sometimes you just need something quick.
Something the kids can grab themselves.
Something that you approve of… not just something they approve of.
This is exactly that.
It’s nothing fancy, but it’s something they’ll eat.
They’re little snack boxes that I can throw together ahead of time so I don’t have to think about it later.
Future Me and Present Me have a pretty good relationship.
Past Me is the real MVP.
Let me tell you, Future Me is always incredibly thankful that Past Me tackled Present Me into doing it anyway.
Some weeks one box might have grapes, blueberries, blackberries, and granola.
Another might have grapes, Goldfish, blueberries, and granola.
It really just depends on what we have in the house that week.
The point isn’t making the perfect snack box.
The point is making something easy.
Sometimes the kids grab one for breakfast if we’re running behind.
Sometimes they eat one after school before soccer practice.
Sometimes they grab one because they’re hungry, and I need five more minutes to finish whatever I’m doing.
Some days they eat every bite.
Some days half of it comes back.
That’s just life.
I make a few ahead of time and keep them in the refrigerator so anyone can grab one whenever they need it.
The less I have to think about food in the middle of the day, the better.
They’re simple.
The kids are happy.
I’m happy.
And honestly…
That’s all I need.
