What in the Looney Tunes?!

My six-year-old has started watching Looney Tunes because he loves Space Jam.
Yesterday, he looked at me, looked at my hair, and decided it resembled a mop.
Then he tried to spit on it.
Apparently Bugs Bunny has been a terrible influence.
πŸ˜‚
It caught me completely off guard.
So naturally, I stopped what I was doing and asked, “Did you just spit in my hair?”
Without missing a beat, he proudly replied, “Yes!”
I blinked.
“…Why?”
He looked at me like I had asked the world’s most obvious question.
“Because your hair looks like a mop.”
Excuse me, mister man?!
First of all, my luscious hair does not resemble a mop.
Long?
Sure.
Curly?
Absolutely.
A mop?
I think not.
As I stood there trying to process what had just happened, I realized something.
He never once thought he was doing anything wrong.
There wasn’t an ounce of remorse because, in his little mind, he wasn’t being mean.
He was helping.
Apparently, somewhere in that six-year-old brain of his, people spit on mops…
…and my hair looked like one.
Makes perfect sense. πŸ™ƒ
Bless his little heart.
One day, he’s going to have kids of his own.
And one of them is going to do something so unbelievably ridiculous that he’s going to stop, stare into space, and wonder how on earth they came up with that idea.
When that day comes…
I’ll try to act surprised.
Until then, be careful around little thinkers.
Their brains work in ways ours never will.
Especially if they’ve been watching Looney Tunes. ☺️
